Hello,
My name is Petra Škabar. I hold a degree in Psychology, a master's degree in Psychosocial counselling and I am a PhD student of Psychosocial Studies. I have been actively providing therapy or counselling for 4 years, using techniques from the Cognitive Behavioural Paradigm (CBT).
Almost 6 years ago, as a psychology student, I launched the Confessions of Mental Health project, which aimed to de-stereotype the conversation around mental health on social media. The project has since expanded beyond that initial framework and has led me to become a lecturer, volunteer and speaker on podcasts, panel discussions, TV and radio shows.

As part of my master's degree internship, I also took over the management of the online consultancy within the Mladi Zmaji association, and at the faculty I actively participated both as a tutor and as the president of the Student Council.
In my consultations, I combine the approaches of behavioral-cognitive counseling and approach the identification and achievement of the set goals of each individual in my treatment in an individualized way. I approach problems with a mixture of elegance, determination, creativity and empathy, which comes from rich life experiences.

I offer counselling in the fields of anxiety, self-esteem, personal growth, interpersonal and partnership problems and many others. Together with my clients I seek balance and peace in their lives, pursue pre-set goals and provide support and encouragement in a variety of situations. Over the last year I have been counselling exclusively in an online environment as I believe in the sense of relaxation, safety and comfort that comes from a familiar environment and the flexibility that comes from conducting counselling sessions online.
The main guideline of my consultancy is to provide help and psychoeducation to all those who are looking for it.
On average, counselling sessions last 60 minutes. The first meeting is mainly devoted to getting to know each other, taking a family history and identifying the client's wishes and expectations.

The establishment of trust and a quality relationship between the client and the consultant is crucial for research, understanding and identification of the client's goals, and in the following we jointly develop strategies and techniques for managing problems and build a path to the desired changes. During the entire consulting process, the client is under the expert supervision of the consultant, and it is the client who always dictates the direction and pace of the consulting process itself.
